For the money these aren't too bad, but the finish is really rough. The edges are not even sanded smooth and are so sharp you'd cut yourself. Inside, the faces of the rivets are razor sharp and only just peened enough to hold it all together. They look great from a bit of distance but as soon as you get up close and actually handle them - you'd better be wearing gloves!
Finish aside, they are well shaped from 16 gauge steel, so they are solidly built to last. The padding is a nice touch and has eyelets to allow attachment to an arming jacket. The straps are proper leather (as far as I can tell) and the buckles are decent - so both should last a long time.
Overall a great bit of kit, but seriously let down by the finish - you shouldn't have to grind the edges yourself!
