Details

You wake from an awful nightmare. You were running into battle, eyeing what had to be 1000 undead advancing toward you and your fellow soldiers...but as you reached for your sword, you found that it was missing!

Phew. Thankfully it was just a dream. You have a Holster Hook, after all. Your sword is always safely in your sword belt.

DETAILS
Epic Armoury’s Epic Black Holster Hook is a clever tool that keeps your latex sword from falling through your weapon holder. There are several of our weapons--like our orc and elven swords--that are designed without crossguards. This design can make it difficult to stay in your sword holder, or frog, and so we’ve created the Holster Hook as a simple solution. Simply tie the Holster Hook around your weapon’s grip, and you will find that it will now rest inside your holder like any normal sword without sacrificing the unique look of your weapon.

Made from black durable leather and leather cord stitching, this hook is built to keep its shape and withstand the abuse of a LARP with regular leather care. With a neutral appearance, it will match almost any weapon. Pair it with one of our swords without a crossguard, or on a weapon that has a bad habit of freeing itself from your belt.

Available in Epic Black and Brown.

HISTORY
A weapon holder is also referred to as a frog Crossguards weren’t necessarily used even on historical weapons--becoming more popular after 10th century Europe

Natural leather products are very durable, but require regular maintenance with leather care products to stay flexible and to increase life-time. Make sure your leather products are kept dry when stored. Let wet leather dry naturally before treating. If frequently wet and dry, increase frequency of maintenance.

CLEANING
Clean by removing dirt with a hard brush, then gently rub on leather soap with a clean, damp cloth until the leather appears clean. Remove soap with a separate damp cloth to wipe away any soap residue and then use a dry cloth to wipe away any remaining water from the leather.

CONDITIONING
You should always condition leather after cleaning, since the soap will have removed some of its natural oils. Treat the leather with mink oil, olive oil, or beeswax polish with a clean cloth, gently rubbing a small amount of oil or polish in circles into the leather. Allow the leather to soak in the oil before wiping the leather with a final clean cloth to remove any excess residue.
