For your clan, war is a permanent state of being. Just as you need meat to sustain you and armour to protect your leathery green skin, war keeps your thirst for chaos and violence sated.

Your clan gathers for the next battle. Against who? You do not know and you do not care. You heard the war horns and the drums, so there is nothing more to be done than to gather your armour and weapons. Rusted and well worn, your Orc Armour will suit your bloodthirsty needs well.

DETAILS
The Orc Armour Deal is an armour set that includes Epic Armoury’s Orc Armour torso, shoulder plates, arm guards, and leg protection. This armour deal is designed to fully gear your orc or barbarian costume at a lower cost. Each piece is made from mild steel with rolled edges and top-grain leather straps and fittings, while a rust-coloured finish is added to the top of each piece to give it a used, distressed appearance. This armour is built to withstand the abuse of a LARP or reenactment while keeping the user safe and comfortable, and will last a long time with regular leather and metal armour care.

Available in sizes Medium and Large.

Orc Torso Armour
A cuirass made from leather and steel covering the front and back of the wearer's torso. The front of this breastplate circles the wearer’s neck, protecting the thorax before encasing the chest and rib cage. The steel breastplate is attached to a flexible, leather back plate using leather straps along the sides and shoulders. Decorative ridges run along the front to give it a reptilian appearance.

Shoulder Plates
A set of two shoulder guards. Atop the pauldron a sword breaker catches and deflects blows, protecting the head. The sword breaker is concave and shaped like a bat or dragon wing. Secure the shoulder plates by tightening the top leather strap onto the torso armour, adjusting so that the armour sits comfortably over the shoulder. Keep the armour from moving by securing an additional leather strap around the upper arm.

Arm Protection
Worn and rugged metal vambraces, embellished with ridges and cross-ridges. Secure vambraces to the forearm using two top-grain leather straps between the wrist and elbow.

Leg Protection
An essential for any person intending to experience the battlefield. These greaves fit over the shins, and can easily be worn over boots or padded leg gambesons. Secure these metal plates using two leather straps--one beneath the knee, and another above the ankle. They feature ridges and shaped edges to give them a reptilian appearance.

HISTORY
Earliest references to orcs are found in Old English and Anglo-Saxon sources, such as in Beowulf and in 16th century Italian folktales
Historically designed with sculpted ridges to provide reinforced protection and to deflect attacks on a chaotic battlefield

MAINTENANCE
This product is specially treated to resist rust, but should still be treated with oil and kept in dry storage. All our metal armours contain leather parts that need regular maintenance using leather-care products to keep the leather from drying out.

Cleaning
If your armour does get wet, it is important that you dry it thoroughly as soon as possible.

After handling, wearing, or after six months of storage or display, all metal should be wiped with a clean cloth. Lightly oil the clean surface with a quality machine or mineral oil. Alternatively, you can apply a coating of wax to the entire surface of exposed metal. Allow the wax to dry for a couple of hours and then buff it lightly with a soft cloth.

Rust-Prevention and Removal
Store your armour is a dry place and check it every couple of months for signs of rust. If any is found, remove it by gently rubbing the affected spot with a mildly abrasive pad dipped in paste wax, oil, or water-displacing liquid.

Leather Straps and Fittings
Clean by removing dirt with a hard brush, then gently rub on leather soap with a clean, damp cloth until the leather appears clean. Remove soap with a separate damp cloth to wipe away any soap residue and then use a dry cloth to wipe away any remaining water from the leather.

You should always condition leather after cleaning, since the soap will have removed some of its natural oils. Treat the leather with mink oil, olive oil, or beeswax polish with a clean cloth, gently rubbing a small amount of oil or polish in circles into the leather. Allow the leather to soak in the oil before wiping the leather with a final clean cloth to remove any excess residue.
